About Us

Turning off Hwy 33 onto Loseth Road the road narrows and you spot the trailhead and walking trails, the wrought iron lampposts making their way up the road. This is Kirschner Mountain.

In the family since the mid 50's, four generations of Kirschners have lived here. The three primary couples still do, calling this island oasis home.

It is this sense of belonging that governs the care given to the evolution of the mountain from a private reserve to welcoming community.

The architectural guidelines; the care in planning, the preservation of much that is native to this environment demonstrates the families love of the mountain. It is part of the charm of living here.

The family is deeply involved and committed to the mountain. After all, family values carved out this mountain and family values will preserve it.

"...oh, those big willow trees in the gully. Well, my brothers and I took a couple of cuttings from Dad's farm on Kirschner Road, that’s where we lived before the mountain...and we just planted them there to see what would happen. Well, they took root and now they look like they have been here since half past forever..."
